14. Guanches (Guanchis)
The Guanches are aboriginal inhabitants of the Canary Islands. It is unknown how they came to the islands of Tenerife – they hadn’t had fleet, known nothing about seafaring.
Their anthropological type did not correspond to the latitude where they lived. Many disputes are caused by the rectangular pyramids on Tenerife – they resemble the pyramids of Maya and Aztecs in Mexico. Nobody knows when and why they were erected.
